You can also use the pillar glitch to make things fly! Place a bed, then use the pillar glitch to place a bed above that bed. Select all, and now you can sink all of it just like the pillar, but place physics (other than height/depth) are still governed by the thing as well as the pillar. Take the 1x1 concrete wall (pillar) and place it next to the thing you want to sink into the ground a bit. You will also lift the other thing, and Fallout will use the hit detection of the rug, not the other thing, to determine where the thing gets placed, allowing you to put things against or closer to other things. (Works on flat surfaces, but it's easier to see if it's working if one end of the rug is floating.) Now pick up the rug. Now place the item you want to place on the floating edge of the rug. No, not that one, the one that only requires cloth.
